MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: (Sholar Powell and Secretary)

All members are requested to destroy Membership Applications in their possession and from here on utilize the new Membership Application contained as page 3 and 4  in this newsletter.  Yep, the back is upside down from the front but that makes it easier when the are filed and we need to see the back of the form.  Please make your copies the same.  New slots for E-mail addresses, CCW permit number, signature of sponsoring member plus adding Cowboy Single Action shooting as a committee  have been incorporated into this new form.  PLEASE - Destroy you old Membership Applications and use this new one.  Thanks!

NO MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 9TH: (Secretary Dale Lear)
Due to the lack of a quorum there was no meeting at the clubhouse.  Our By-Laws state "A quorum shall consist of five percent of the membership, with a minimum of twelve members present."  Come on members - this is your club –  YOUR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN RUNNING THE CLUB IS NEEDED!!!  See you the 14th at the Sweetwater Café, 5559 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC.

NON-MEETING INFORMATION:
Tom Morrison advised that 19 Boy Scouts from Troop 215 and 6 BSA Leaders utilized the club. On Saturday  MGySgt David Miller ran the air and .22 instruction and shoots while Deputy Sheriff Arch Jones ran the shotgun instruction and shoots.  All of the scouts qualified for their Merit Badges.  MGySgt Miller was assisted by 2 Seniors from the JROTC, 2 USMC members and 1 USMC Reservist.  Col. Johnson also came to this activity.  They used 5 cases of targets for the Scout shooters.  They slept out Friday and Saturday nights and were out by 8:30 A.M. on Sunday after the Scouts policed up the club.  Four Scouts from other Troops participated 3 of whom were from Fairmont.

David Jones would like to use the club facilities for BSA Troop 242 of  Wrightsville Beach on Saturday, December 7th.  It will be a one day activity for Scouts to qualify for Merit Badges.

Don Sloop requests 1 skeet field be reserved on September 28th for the Brunswick County Chapter of the Green Wings shoot.

Fred Welfare advised that they had 16 shooters at yesterdays skeet match and three were 1st time non-members.   John Scott shot 50 in Class B, Nick King shot 49 in Class C and Dan Montgomery shot 46 in Class D.
